Comparison scope
A comparison starts with the question the page is meant to answer. A guide to a payment method, a casino review and an explanation of a game require different evidence. We identify the operators or products included and avoid treating a limited selection as a complete survey of the market.
This methodology supports the Editorial Policy. It is an assessment framework, not a guarantee about any operator’s future conduct or an individual account outcome.
Operator and licensing
We look for the business operating the brand, the relevant terms, the jurisdiction and the regulator or licence the operator claims. A licence claim should be checked through the relevant official source and matched to the named business and product.
An overseas licence, eligibility to operate during a transition, a licence application and an issued New Zealand licence are separate matters. A New Zealand-themed landing page or a successful website connection does not establish regulatory approval. Current information should be checked with the Department of Internal Affairs; we keep transition commentary brief and do not infer approval from an application.
Payments and verification
We distinguish deposits from withdrawals, operator approval from payment-provider transfer time, and a published banking list from the options actually offered to a verified account. Relevant details include account currency, conversion, fixed fees, minimums, limits and account-name requirements.
A published “instant” payment label is not recorded as a measured withdrawal result. Any firsthand timing claim should explain when the request was made, which stages were included and what verification or account restrictions applied.
Games and promotions
A game is identified by its full title, provider and version. RTP figures are theoretical long-run settings, not a prediction for a short session. Where several settings or editions exist, the reader should be directed to the actual game’s rules.
When a promotion is discussed, we examine eligibility, qualifying deposits, wagering basis, contribution rates, maximum bets, expiry and withdrawal conditions. Package totals and individual matches are separated. Unresolved contradictions should be shown beside the relevant claim instead of being hidden in a general disclaimer.
Player controls and support
We consider whether spending limits, time-outs, self-exclusion, account closure, support and complaints information can be found and understood. These tools have different scopes. A restriction on one account or payment method should not be presented as a universal block.
Published support options and actual support tests are labelled separately. We do not describe an operator as responsive or a cashier as reliable solely because contact buttons or payment logos appear on a page.
Ratings and commercial context
Any rating or ordering needs an explanation of its criteria and evidence. Commercial relationships can affect which operators are included and their placement; the Affiliate Disclosure gives that context. A high position is not a promise of safety, approval, eligibility or winnings.
If an important source is missing or the available evidence does not support a claim, we qualify it or leave it unverified. Send corrections and source updates through the Contact page. Jamie Seidel is the editorial contact for this process.
